CORUNNA SOCCER CHILD PROTECTION CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction

Corunna Soccer is committed to ensuring the safety, well-being, and rights of all children involved in our programs. This Code of Conduct outlines guidelines for staff and volunteers to maintain appropriate boundaries and foster positive interactions with children.

Core Principles

  1. Respect and Dignity: Treat all children with respect, dignity, and fairness.
  2. Boundary Maintenance: Establish, maintain, and respect clear and appropriate boundaries with children.
  3. Child-Centered Approach: Prioritize the best interests of the child in all interactions.
  4. Open Communication: Encourage open and honest communication with children and their families.
  5. Professional Conduct: Conduct oneself professionally and ethically at all times.

Prohibited Behaviors

Staff and volunteers must not:

  • Engage in any physical contact with a child that could be perceived as inappropriate.
  • Engage in any communication with a child, whether in-person or online, that is not directly related to their role within the organization.
  • Favor or single out any child.
  • Take personal photos or videos of children.
  • Make sexual comments or jokes to a child.
  • Show or discuss sexually suggestive material with a child.
  • Intimidate, threaten, or bully a child.

Reporting Procedures

All staff and volunteers are obligated to report any suspected child abuse or inappropriate behavior. This includes:

  • Immediate Reporting: Report any suspected child abuse directly to the appropriate authorities, such as the police or child welfare services.
  • Internal Reporting: Report any concerns or suspicions of inappropriate behavior to the designated person within Corunna Soccer. This is the President or the Club Head Coach.
